Organic Analogue mints a new 12” series, Splits, with the sounds of Tbilisi-based artists HVL and Gacha Bakradze. The series is aimed at tracks with a sharp, physical focus for the club, whether rolling at techno, jungle or hip-hop tempos, bringing together artists connected through their location or the scenes they operate in. HVL is no stranger to OA, having released the second 12” on the label Away From Everything We Know in 2015 and delivering his debut LP Ostati for us in 2018. A resident of the leading Georgian club Bassiani with a strong catalogue of exploratory techno behind him, on this latest transmission HVL guides us through darkened hallways of introspective techno and angular braindance with an inherent moodiness in the sound.

Co-owner of fabled Tbilisi space Left Bank Gacha Bakradze has previously released on labels like Lapsus, Fever AM, Die Orakel and Bassiani-affiliated label Horoom. His punchy strain of electro edges towards the more experimental end of the genre, drawing on the Detroit machine soul blueprint and teasing light and shade in amongst industrially-charged sound design and sub-testing hardcore impressions. With a penchant for emotionally complex melodics, Bakradze’s approach makes for a fitting foil to the looming pressure of HVL on the A side, laying out the manifesto for the Splits series in sonic form.
